Designing for Nor·Mal Mag
An online publication challenging norms and encouraging self-acceptance
Overview
As the magazine’s editorial direction began to take shape, the challenge was to translate a complex idea like “normality” Into a web experience that felt clear, engaging and reflective.
I worked as the Web Lead and UI/UX Designer, shaping the overall web experience from concept to execution. This involved defining the site structure and refining the interface, interactions, typography, layout and user flow. Working closely with the wider team, I shaped a digital experience that felt editorial, accessible and culturally relevant.
The final outcome was presented as part of our degree show, encouraging users to question their own perceptions of normality. Through editorial content, considered design and clear navigation, the site created a digital space for conversations around identity, body image and self-acceptance.
